Presentation Topic: Embedding Quality Process in Agile Product Delivery
Quality is said to be built in when using agile-delivery approaches due to early and ongoing testing without the formal techniques of testing done in traditional approaches. In Scrum of Scrum projects or interlinked projects, quality management processes and techniques help to achieve ‘deliver fit-for-purpose agile products.’ Implementing these techniques has defined a new direction in multiple agile projects.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
(1) define techniques of quality process in an agile/scrum framework;
(2) apply techniques of quality process using an agile/scrum framework in multiple projects such as scrum of scrum projects.

Software Quality Expert
Richie is a Software Testing Expert, Agile Quality Coach and Podcast Host. He has encountered a vast array of software throughout his professional journey: from the good to the bad, the large to the small, the new to the old. He's seen software so magnificent it could move one to tears, and others that make one cringe. For Richie, one thing is clear: those who wish to craft exceptional software today must view the development process holistically: people, context, methods, and tools. A mindset that allows for the unlocking of potential and the growth of innovation only forms when these elements work together harmoniously.
Richie is author of several books about software engineering and host of a Software Testing podcast.
Presentation Topic: 5 Habits to Survive as a Tester
Peter Drucker, who pioneered many of today's widely used management concepts, famously said, 'The only thing we know about the future is that it is going to be different.' Indeed, our ability to predict the future is limited. However, the transformations witnessed in technology, the economy, and business over the last few decades provide us with some insight into what we can expect. Oh, and yes, there's this AI thing going on. While it's essential to test all these advancements, we also need to consider our skills and habits. Are we adequately prepared to adapt to change? The shift to agile methodologies has been significant for many testers. So, how can we prepare for future changes? I'll share some thoughts on how we can embrace, rather than fear, the changes that lie ahead.

She is a trained Master coach, and also holds several certificates within testing as well as agile: ISTQB Expert Level Test Management – Full, Certified agile tester (CAT), TMap Test Engineer, TMAP Organizing Built-in Quality at Scale, Certified SCRUM Master, SAFe Program Consultant.
Presentation Topic: Test manager, orchestrator or quality coach
For some years we have been talking about the role of the tester, and how it should/might change in the light of new ways of delivering software – with agile, scaled agile, DevOps, etc. But the role of the test manager is changing too, and is being questioned in some situations – should the role exist anymore? For some, the traditional test management role is still 100% relevant (I have recently been in such a context myself), but for many of us, the test manager role is transitioning from the traditional test management role to a role focusing on orchestration and quality coaching.
So, if you haven’t done so already, maybe it’s time to consider questions such as:
Do I have the competences to coach my team in test?
How do I support the team in the focus of continuous quality assurance?
How do I ensure that we have the proper focus on value while testing?
Ask these questions while recognizing that a test strategy is still essential, and that especially in a scaled context, someone still needs to orchestrate test for the solution end-to-end, and also focus on ensuring that dependencies across teams are addressed.
This presentation will take you through some of the competences needed to be a good quality orchestrator and quality coach, focusing on both the soft and hard skills which will help you be the best possible support to your team/project/train.

On June 28, 2025 - as scheduled by the European Commission - the latest update to the European Accessibility Act (EAA) will go into effect. This Digital Accessibility Act requires e-Commerce companies to make their services digitally accessible. Specifically, this means that all digital products must start complying with accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 (AA)). E-Commerce companies include many businesses, including new websites, sales digital products and services, advertising platforms, media services and/or telecommunications services. Companies that do not comply with the guidelines are at risk of action, including fines, from that point on.
However, Polteq does not see WCAG compliance as the end goal. In fact, there is great commercial value in good Usability. Your customer base can grow by millions by making your website or mobile app accessible for people having visual, hearing and/or other physical challenges.
Wim and Linda take you into the world of Usability and digital accessibility that includes the following questions and topics:
- what is the importance of Usability (and aspects) within today's software development?
- What does the upcoming new update of EEA and WCAG mean?
- from operational cost to Usability as investment: the Polteq TI4-Usability model

Presentation Topic: In Praise of Manual Testing – or Why, now more than ever, we need to keep the Human in the Loop
With the current drive to automate so much there is a concern that we will loose the valuable insights that Manual Testing provides.
To understand the value of Manual Testing we first need to understand how humans learn and interact with the world - we learn by doing, finding out what 'feels' right.
In this presentation I will outline a number of factors that contribute to the strength of Manual Testing. These include:
- Human Perceptions of Systems
- Being 'Present'
- The Use of Personas
- Human Creativity To Catch More Bugs
Put quite simply, Manual Testing is not manual labour and needs to be part of your Quality Toolkit!

Presentation Topic: Using Generative AI in Testing - Good Practices and Risks
“Dear AI, please write me test cases for the requirements I gave you above.” A prompt of this type may or may not work. Most probably, it will not reliably deliver useful results. Why not? Because the prompt is too vague. Good prompts are structured, provide context and do not ask too much at a time. But there is another problem with this example, which is more psychological in nature. Shall I treat the AI as a human? After all, it is just a machine. We should never forget that.
In her presentation, Anne takes us on her personal AI journey. She describes how her approach to Generative AI has changed in recent months, what prompt engineering best practices she found most useful and what technical and social risks she sees.

For some, promotions come quickly and easily, while others can sit in the same role for a decade.
Did the first group hack the system? Can we learn from them? Although we have access to a competency matrix, job ad requirements, and colleague feedback, why isn't the career journey the same for everyone? The climb gets harder with each rank, and at some point, you surpass the competency matrix and move into uncharted territory.
In this presentation, I will share what I’ve learned on my journey from Junior to CTO. I will highlight the areas in which test engineers should invest time and energy to unlock future opportunities. These insights will lead to exciting destinations and life-changing achievements.
During my talk, I will present six categories, each with 5 levels, to be used as a self-assessment and guide for career growth. Using a spider graph, I will outline why some specialists experience rapid growth, and with that knowledge, you can do the same.

Artificial intelligence is slowly but systematically invading our lives. Hardly a day goes by without an article or video extolling the capabilities of these new tools, which are supposed to solve all our problems, or at least make our lives easier and more efficient...
But every rose has its thorns, and artificial intelligence has its own. I'm talking about the systematic and sometimes dramatic biases that accompany its analyses, and their subsequent decisions which sometimes make the headlines.
Where do these biases come from? Why are they so difficult to anticipate? How can we try to detect them, and how can the tester help? that's the subject of this presentation.
